May 29 - the Peacemaker Day

Dear peacekeepers, veterans of military service!

On behalf of the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and me personally, I congratulate you on the International Day of Peacekeepers!

The UN General Assembly declared May 29 in 2002 the International Day of Peacekeepers. This day, all those who have served or continue to participate in peacekeeping operations are paid tribute.

Since 1990, the peacekeeping contingents of the Russian Federation have repeatedly been part of the international peacekeeping force in various parts of the world. Russian troops provided peace in Pridnestrovie, South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Nagorno-Karabakh and Tajikistan.

The peacekeeping operation on the Dniester is unique. Russian peacekeepers are the main stabilizing and guaranteeing component of the ongoing peacekeeping operation in Pridnestrovie.

It is courageous and strong people who can bring peace to people, protect them from armed conflicts and confrontations, and build confidence between nations and states. People, for whom, the preservation of peace on earth is above all.

I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the occasion! I wish you, your family and friends strong health, goodness, happiness and prosperity!
