Dear Pridnestrovians!
Dear residents of Bendery!
Today the whole Pridnestrovian people recall the most mournful date in the history of our Republic - 28 years from the day of the Bendery tragedy.
On June 19, 1992, the armed formations of Moldova broke into the practically unarmed Pridnestrovian town Bendery.
The bloodshed organized by the Moldovan armed forces lasted more than a month. During the 44 days of aggression in Bendery 489 people were killed, among them 132 civilians, including five children and 31 women, about 1500 people were injured, more than 80000 residents became refugees.
The disaster came to the Pridnestrovian land in 1992, and after 28 years it does not seem less, and the pain does not subside.
This day we honor the memory and lay flowers at the memorials of the fallen, bow our heads in mournful silence, recalling the tragic days of the summer of 1992. The courage of the Pridnestrovians, shown during the defense of Bendery, their honor and courage forever entered the history of Pridnestrovie as an invaluable example of the patriotism of our people.
The inhuman act of aggression of Moldavian nationalists will forever remain an unhealed wound in the hearts of people who have lost their near and dear ones. Each of us shares the pain of the families of the victims and honors the blessed memory of the innocently killed.
We remember the fallen and our main task before the past, present and future is to be firmly convinced that this will never happen again. Low bow to the mothers and fathers of the heroes who laid down their lives in the battles for the liberation of our Motherland.
We are grateful to the Russian Federation for peace on the banks of the Dniester and the special role of the guarantor of security in our state, for the invaluable role of peacekeeping forces in the process of peaceful settlement and stability in the republic.
The bloody events of the summer of 1992 showed that the Pridnestrovian people are an example of heroism and patriotism, it cannot be broken. Today is a day of memory, pain and sorrow for those who will never return, who gave their lives for freedom, dignity and independence of our land.
Pridnestrovians! As long as the heart beats - remember! At what cost did we defend the right to life and freedom, the right to speak our native language - please remember!
Carry the memory through the years and fill it with life, those events and those who will never come again - remember!
Eternal memory to the fallen heroes! Peace, kindness, happiness and prosperity to all citizens of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic!
