25th Anniversary of the Defenders of Pridnestrovie Union in Dubossary

Dubossary celebrates the 25th anniversary of the local Defenders of Pridnestrovie Union. The public organization was established on January 16, 1995. Its predecessor was the Council of Field Commanders, which has existed since 1992. Today, the Defenders of Pridnestrovie Union of the Dubossary district and the city of Dubossary is the largest organization in the city. It consists of 1300 people. Every year, the date of creation of the Union of Defenders brings together those who, in the 1990s, at the call of the heart, defended the people and the republic.

The memory of comrades who died in 1992 and those who passed away in peacetime was honored with a moment of silence. Flowers were laid at the Memorial of Military Glory.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the public organization, the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov sent a welcoming address.

According to the Deputy of the Supreme Council Peter Pasat, members of the public organization actively participate in the life of the city and the republic, conduct work on the patriotic education of the younger generation. They are frequent visitors to schools.

Today, the interaction of the local Union of Defenders with state authorities has been established. The proposals of the republic’s defenders from Dubossary are echoed and understood by the Supreme Council, the parliamentarian said. Peter Pasat regularly takes part in the meetings of the Presidium of the Dubossary Union of Defenders of Pridnestrovie and the “Combat Brotherhood” of Dubossary. The parliamentarian informs members of public organizations about the laws adopted by the Supreme Council. Within the framework of such meetings, questions and proposals of the defenders of the republic are accumulated.
