Dear soldiers-internationalists,
veterans of the Afghan war!
On behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the 32nd anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.
February 15, 1989 is a special day for all who took part in the hostilities on Afghan soil, who fulfilled their military duty with honor and dignity.
The Afghan war lasted almost ten years. 550 thousand Soviet soldiers and officers passed through it. There were men who were born on the Pridnestrovian land among those who fought, looked death in the face, lost comrades in arms. Today we bow our heads before our courageous defenders - fallen and alive, before all who remained faithful to their country to the end.
We also bow before the courage of the soldiers and officers who participated in other "hot spots" of the planet. The names of the heroes who, at the cost of their lives, prevented the growth of military conflicts and the death of civilians, will forever remain in the memory of their compatriots.
We bow to all who have lost their loved ones in military conflicts, in whose hearts they will always live as an example of devotion to the Fatherland, loyalty to duty, fearlessness and self-sacrifice.
I wish all soldiers-internationalists, veterans of military operations in Afghanistan and their loved ones health, longevity, peaceful skies and prosperity!
The Supreme Council Chairman
of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
Alexander Korshunov
