15.02.2017

Dear soldiers-internationalists!

On behalf of the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and personally from me please receive my sincere congratulations in honor of the 28th anniversary of the day of withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.

February 15, 1989 will forever remain in the history of our country.

This day, the last column of Soviet troops was withdrawn from Afghanistan and ended the undeclared war that touched not only the soldiers and officers, but also the entire nation. This is not only a significant event in the calendar of historical dates, but first and foremost day of the bright memory and deep sorrow.

The war in Afghanistan claimed the lives of more than 14 thousand Soviet soldiers and officers. Among those who fought, looked into the face of death, lost comrades, were the guys who were born on this land, 54 Pridnestrovians not returned home. Eternal glory to them!

Heroism, courage, fortitude and solidarity of soldiers in Afghanistan is a good example for today's generation of soldiers and officers.

Many of those who passed through Afghanistan continue in peacetime to devote their energies to the good of the Fatherland, make a great contribution

in the patriotic upbringing of the younger generation, being an example of courage, selfless service to the Motherland. We sincerely thank you for all that you do today to strengthen the sovereignty and independence of Pridnestrovie.

Dear soldiers-internationalists, veterans of Afghanistan, thank you, to all those who honestly and courageously served their military

and civic duty, great respect, deepest appreciation

and gratitude for their courage, honesty, courage and devotion to native country.

We bow to all those who lost their near and dear ones during the military conflicts. They will always live in our hearts as an example of devotion to the Motherland, devotion to duty, courage and sacrifice.

I sincerely wish you good health, happiness, good luck, courage, long life, prosperity and peaceful sky over your head! Let peace and happiness live in your families!
