The Parliament supported in the second reading the initiative of the deputies of the Supreme Council, which requires state bodies and officials to respond to a deputy's request in writing no later than 15 working days after receiving it. The deadline for responding to deputy requests was not regulated previously, which led to delays and inefficient work.
Law-in-draft was adopted that establishes clear deadlines for responding to deputy requests in order to ensure more efficient work of local Councils of People's Deputies and increase the responsibility of state bodies and officials.
The law-in-draft amends the Law "On the Status of People's Deputies of Local Councils of People's Deputies of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". Its purpose is to establish at the legislative level clear and precise deadlines for giving an answer to the deputy's request of people's deputies of local Soviets.
According to the law-in-draft, the state body or official must give an oral response to the request at this session of the Council or provide a written response no later than 15 working days from the date of receipt of the request, unless another period is established by the Council. The adopted decision and the deputy's request can be published in the media by decision of the Council.
Thus, deputies will be able to receive the necessary information in a shorter time and more effectively fulfill their duties of representing the interests of their constituents.
The adopted changes will come into force immediately after signing by the PMR President.
