The Organization of Guards of Dubossary is 13

Meeting dedicated to the 13th anniversary of the creation of the “Union of Veterans of the Republican Guard” public organization in Dubossary took place on February 19. The event at the Memorial of Military Glory was attended by Deputy of the Supreme Council of the PMR for constituency No. 11 Boris German, representatives of the Dubossary State Administration and the Council of People's Deputies, Chairman of the NGO "Republican Union of Defenders of the PMR" Valery Shirkov, Head of the NGO "Union of Veterans of the Republican Guard" Viktor Katareu, representatives of the Union of Veterans of the Republican Guard and the local branch of the "Renewal" republican party.

The public organization “Union of Republican Guard Veterans” in Dubossary was formed on February 19, 2011 on the initiative of 10 former Republican Guard soldiers. They became the founders of the organization, which first included veterans of the Republican Guard of the Dubossary region, and in 2018, the ranks of the Union were also joined by guardsmen from other cities and regions of Pridnestrovie, who in 1992 took an active part in repelling the armed aggression of the Republic of Moldova.

The deputy wished the veterans peace and health. The rally participants honored the memory of all the fallen guardsmen with a minute of silence and laid flowers at their graves. 14 guardsmen died, 83 died in peacetime during the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian armed conflict. There are 415 people in the organization's ranks today.

The head of the NGO "Union of Veterans of the Republican Guard" Victor Katareu noted that activists of the Union help comrades in organizing treatment, recovery, as well as in solving other important life problems. The Dubossary guardsmen were congratulated on the anniversary of the formation of the organization by the head of the Republican Union of Defenders of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Valery Shirkov. He emphasized that the Republican Guard was one of the main units that took part in the events of 1992.
