The 12th of June – Day of Russia

Dear Pridnestrovians, citizens of Russia and compatriots!

I congratulate you on the state holiday of the Russian Federation - Day of Russia on behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and on my own behalf!

Russia is a country with thousand-year history, vast territory, unique natural and spiritual wealth; a country that has united many peoples, cultures and religious confessions within a single state. This day each of us feels like a particle of a great power.

In the most difficult periods of the history of the Russian state, it was invariably saved by the strength of spirit, friendship and solidarity of citizens, who were always united in the main thing – in the desire to make the Fatherland independent and strong.

Everyone realizes that the main strength of Russia is the people who live in the country today. They will have to realize again and again the lessons of history, draw conclusions from them, preserve and augment age-old national traditions, treat their rights and responsibilities in a balanced and responsible manner.

The strategic course pursued by the leadership of the Russian Federation aimed at deep modernization of the economy, improving the quality of life of Russians, strengthening the international prestige of Russia, is receiving the broadest support in our republic as well. I am sure that this will continue to be so. We may be far from Russia, but we always feel its support. Let the clear, peaceful sky stretch over our republic and let the sun of freedom, independence, equality and happiness shine!
