The grand opening of two expositions dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first flight into space and the 77th anniversary of the liberation of Tiraspol from the Nazi invaders took place in the exhibition hall of the Catherine Park. The event was attended by Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeyeva, Deputy of the Supreme Council Ilona Tyuryaeva and Deputy Head of the State Administration of Tiraspol for Social Issues Maria Pashchenko.
Cosmonautics Day has truly become a symbol of dreams, a triumph of science, perseverance and courage, and Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin will forever remain the first conqueror of outer space, it was noted at the opening of the exhibition.
The Vice Speaker of the Parliament added that our region is directly related to the events taking place in the field of the development of astronautics.
The first exposition is space. It shows the drawings of the participants of the "Meet the Stars" competition. At the exhibition you can see various books on the development and exploration of space, biographies of cosmonauts. Unique exhibits - a copy of Yuri Gagarin's letter to the children from vocational school No. 5 in the city of Tiraspol, food for cosmonauts produced at the Pridnestrovian factories, and others. The second exposition is on military subjects. She talks about the liberation of the city of Tiraspol from the Nazi invaders. The exhibition presents the works of students of the children's art school named after A.F. Foinitsky and children's School of Art named after S.V. Rachmaninov.
Deputy of the PMR Supreme Council Ilona Tyuryaeva congratulated all Pridnestrovians on these two significant and historical events. She noted that as then 60 years ago the whole country was waiting for this event, so six decades later, our citizens were waiting for this anniversary date.
Ilona Tyuryaeva thanked the city administration, the State Unitary Enterprise “Pridnestrovie Post” for their assistance in holding various thematic events, helping to decorate Gagarin Boulevard, which has become a point of attraction for many residents of Tiraspol and guests of the city.
The exhibition will run until April 24. You can come to the exhibition hall of the Catherine Park from 10:00 to 18:00. Monday is day off, and the ticket price is 4 rubles.
