Dear Pridnestrovians!
On behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on Cosmonautics Day!
60 years ago, on April 12, 1961, an event of world-historical significance took place - for the first time a man overcame gravity and went into outer space. This marked the beginning of a new era in the history of mankind: space that had previously seemed so distant and unattainable, became available for research and use in the interests of man.
The space triumph of domestic science and technology was the result of the enormous, hard work of engineers, designers, medical workers, test pilots, thousands of collectives of factories and enterprises associated with the rocket and space industry and every Soviet worker without exaggeration.
The Pridnestrovian land since the beginning of the space era has been closely linked with the history of Soviet cosmonautics. The 119th Fighter Aviation Division from 1951 to 1989, the 684th Guards Orsha Red Banner Fighter Aviation Regiment were stationed in Tiraspol, in which the famous cosmonauts V.V. Gorbatko, E.V. Khrunov, Yu.P. Gidzenko, A.N. Berezova, V. N. Dezhurov, Yu. V. Malenchenko. Pridnestrovian food industry enterprises participated in the development and production of specific food for Soviet cosmonauts. Slobodzeya meliorators were among the first in the world to start introducing the achievements of space research into the practice of organizing agricultural production.
Cosmonautics Day is an occasion for each of us to once again think about making our wildest dreams come true and realize that nothing is impossible! This was proved by the Soviet people, who sent man into space sixteen years after winning the most destructive war in the history of mankind.
Let the achievements of the discoverers of space serve as an example of true patriotism and dedication to our work for all of us!
May our life be filled with creative work and large-scale achievements for the benefit of our Republic!
Chairman of the Supreme Council
of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
