Petr Zalozhkov took an active part in the strike movement against the nationalist policy of the leadership of Moldova towards the people of Pridnestrovie, headed the strike committee of Tiraspol, and was co-chairman of the United Council of Labor Collectives (UCTC) in the late 80s of the twentieth century. Participant of the I and II congresses of deputies of all levels of Pridnestrovie. Pyotr Zalozhkov was one of the founders of Pridnestrovie, a deputy of the Provisional Supreme Council of the PMSSR and a deputy of the first convocation of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
