In memory of one of the founders of the republic

The plenary meeting of the PMR Supreme Council began today with a minute of silence. Pyotr Aleksandrovich Zalozhkov, one of the founders of the republic, deputy of the Supreme Council of the first convocation passed away On November 27. He was 79 years old.

Petr Zalozhkov took an active part in the strike movement against the nationalist policy of the leadership of Moldova towards the people of Pridnestrovie, headed the strike committee of Tiraspol, and was co-chairman of the United Council of Labor Collectives (UCTC) in the late 80s of the twentieth century. Participant of the I and II congresses of deputies of all levels of Pridnestrovie. Pyotr Zalozhkov was one of the founders of Pridnestrovie, a deputy of the Provisional Supreme Council of the PMSSR and a deputy of the first convocation of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The memorial service and civil memorial service took place today at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in Tiraspol. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, the First President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Igor Smirnov, colleagues from the Consultative Assembly of the first Pridnestrovian Deputies, and colleagues from the United Strike Committee came to pay last tribute to Pyotr Zalozhkov.

Pyotr Zalozhkov turned 79 in September. The political and public figure of Pridnestrovie will be buried on the Walk of Fame at the New cemetery.
