The Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic today supported the decision of the PMR President to extend the state of emergency regime until December 1. The deputies unanimously voted for the adoption of the Resolution approving the relevant decree of the President Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The importance and necessity of such a decision was commented by the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Viktor Guzun. According to the head of the profile committee, Pridnestrovie faced such a situation when there is simply no gas for the first time. The volumes that JSC "Moldovagaz" allocates in November for our republic – 69 million cubic meters – will not be enough for heating, electricity, industrial enterprises and the generation of export electricity. The deputies discussed the situation with the Minister of Economic Development of the PMR Sergey Obolonik today.
The Decree of the President, according to which the state of emergency operates, will determine the sequence of gas supply, based on priorities. The head of the Economic Policy Committee expressed hope that the situation would be resolved: negotiations are ongoing with the Moldovan side on the return of natural gas supplies in contractual volumes. The state of emergency in Pridnestrovie will last until December 1.
