Dear Pridnestrovians, citizens of Russia and compatriots!
On behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and on my own behalf I congratulate you on the national holiday – Day of Russia.
The Declaration on State Sovereignty of Russia was adopted on June 12, 1990 and it was from that moment that a new stage in the history of the country began. The Russian people have chosen democracy, freedom and a civilized path of development as their main basic values. Day of Russia is a symbol of national unity and common responsibility for the present and future of the state.
The Russian Federation today is confidently moving along the path of modernizing the economic, social and cultural spheres of society, along the path of further democratic transformations, steadily increasing its economic power and influence in the foreign policy arena.
Everyone at present is aware that the main strength of Russia is the people living in it. They will have to draw conclusions from the lessons of history again and again, preserve and increase centuries-old traditions, and take their rights and obligations responsibly.
We are far from Russia, but we always feel its support. May the clear, peaceful sky continue to stretch over our republic and may the sun of freedom, independence, equality and happiness shine!
I wish you health, well-being, success in the implementation of all your plans and fruitful work for the benefit of Russia!
Sincerely,
Chairman of the Supreme Council
of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
Alexander Korshunov
