Ceremony to honor the best medical workers was held. The Ministry of Health of the PMR celebrated the 30th anniversary of the republic's health care sector on the territory of the Republican Clinical Hospital today. The celebration was attended by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov, the Chairman of the Government Alexander Martynov and the Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Health of the PMR Supreme Council Sergey Cheban, heads of ministries and departments.

According to the press service of the PMR President, they summed up the results and talked about the functioning of one of the most important systems from the social point of view, the medical system during three decades. The Minister of Health of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Christina Albul spoke in her report about current priorities and plans, focused on the implementation of the Capital Investment Fund program, noting that more than three dozen objects were repaired and built in 2020 alone. Serious work has been carried out in terms of re-equipment of medical and preventive institutions, medical equipment is being updated, the vehicle fleet has been replenished (19 new ambulances have been purchased, 22 have been handed over as humanitarian aid). Over the past five years, more than 280 new medical services have been introduced into the Pridnestrovian health care system.

More than 10 thousand specialists work in the healthcare system of Pridnestrovie. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of the work of the Ministry of Health and all its departments. The President drew attention to the fact that all infrastructural aspects and issues related to equipping medical institutions and purchasing equipment are resolved exclusively in cooperation with the medical community. 42 objects have been built and reconstructed during 4 years in the sphere of health care. Large-scale work in this direction continues. Confirmation of this is the announcement of 2022 as the Year of Healthcare.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov emphasized that today in the healthcare sector of our republic there are professionals who honor their medical duties, attentive and responsible people. The medical community makes an invaluable contribution to strengthening the health of Pridnestrovians, to the development of the health care system, introducing modern technologies and methods of prevention and treatment into it.

The pandemic has become a serious test for the health care system, emphasized Christina Albul. 649 doctors, 1386 representatives of the middle and 1152 junior medical staff are involved in the fight against the spread of coronavirus. More than a thousand doctors have been ill with COVID-19. There were also cases of death. The memory of the dead was honored today with a minute of silence.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky called the pandemic a global exam, emphasizing that the Pridnestrovian healthcare system is coping with this test with dignity. Vadim Krasnoselsky focused on the issue of material remuneration for the work of doctors. The President considers that the level of salaries in the healthcare sector is still insufficient. Material incentives are growing gradually. Emphasis is placed on additional payments to the medical staff of infectious diseases hospitals, tuberculosis hospitals, and emergency medical services. Global spending on the fight against COVID-19 will stop with the end of the pandemic and the freed up funds will be used, among other things, to raise salaries for doctors, nurses, and orderlies, the presidential press service notes. Vadim Krasnoselsky presented state awards and documents on conferring the honorary title "Honored Doctor of PMR" to the most distinguished healthcare workers of the republic today.
