The 27th meeting of the first session of the PMR Supreme Council of the VII convocation took place in the plenary session hall today, on July 14. It ended the spring session. The results of the work of the Pridnestrovian Parliament for 7 months were summed up by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Korshunov.
The Supreme Council received 218 legislative initiatives in the first half of the year. The deputies considered not only new legislations, but also draft laws that had been under consideration by parliamentary committees since the previous convocation.
Alexander Korshunov noted: the fight against the pandemic is not over. Despite the vaccination of the population, Pridnestrovians fall ill with coronavirus infection, they need treatment, medicines and protective equipment are needed for doctors. This year, 300 million rubles are needed to fight COVID. The deputies considered 69 amendments to the law on the republican budget for 2021 in the course of the plenary session today.
The Speaker said that a number of legislations adopted in the first session were aimed at supporting the real sector of the economy and the business community.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR also focused on the social protection of certain categories of citizens.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Korshunov emphasized that the deputies worked fully and productively, despite the fact that most of the plenary sessions were held online due to the pandemic.
Parliamentary holidays begin. The deputies will go to work on September 1. The opening date of the autumn session of the VII convocation of the PMR Supreme Council will become known later.
