The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted the Statement in connection with the Complication of the Situation around Pridnestrovie

The State Duma of the Russian Federation today adopted a draft resolution on the statement of the deputies "On the plans and actions of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine leading to the disruption of the settlement of the Pridnestrovian conflict, and measures to support Russian citizens and Russian compatriots in Pridnestrovie".

Russian deputies condemned the use of blockade and restrictive measures against Pridnestrovie and stated the need to unblock the negotiation process to resolve the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict as soon as possible.

Russian parliamentarians drew attention to the inadmissibility of using the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to increase political and socio-economic pressure on the population of Pridnestrovie.

It is noted that the blocking of bank and correspondent accounts of Pridnestrovian enterprises in commercial banks of Moldova remains an acute problem for Pridnestrovie. Numerous pensioners, citizens of the Russian Federation, who are unable to use their personal accounts and bank cards on the territory of Pridnestrovie, are also experiencing difficulties.

Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma of the Russian Federation made a speech in the State Duma before the deputies, presenting the Statement.
