The PMR Investigative Committee is 10

The Investigative Committee, a single agency of preliminary investigation was created in our republic10 years ago. Solemn meeting dedicated to this anniversary date took place today. It was attended by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Head of the Committee on Legislation and Law Enforcement Galina Antyufeeva, Prosecutor of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Anatoly Guretsky, leadership of ministries.

The powers of the Investigative Committee are assigned to the sphere of criminal proceedings. The activities of the Investigative Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic are supervised by the President. He also appoints the Head, the department has been headed by Vyacheslav Brynzar, Major General of Justice since December 2016.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky during the solemn meeting spoke about the history of the formation of investigative structures and the current activities of the Investigative Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that domestic investigative mechanisms originated in the era of the Russian Empire, according to the website of the President. The Pridnestrovian investigation, like the republic, is more than three decades old. The current anniversary is a date from the latest history of the department in the current form. The PMR President did not disregard the contribution of service veterans, focusing on the value of experience enhanced by a modern approach to investigation. The PMR President presented the most distinguished employees of the Investigative Committee with state awards and documents on conferring honorary and regular special titles on the occasion of the departmental anniversary. Vadim Krasnoselsky was awarded a commemorative medal "10 years of the PMR Investigative Committee".

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vyacheslav Brynzar emphasized that the activities of investigators should contribute to the growth of public confidence in the law enforcement system. Since 2012, over 10.5 thousand criminal cases have been sent to the court by employees of the Investigative Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

An important activity of the Investigative Committee is the investigation of economic crimes. Over 591 million rubles have been reimbursed to the state during the preliminary investigation and procedural checks since the formation of the Pridnestrovian Investigative Committee. The Head of the Investigative Committee emphasized that improving the quality of the investigation makes it possible to counteract the most dangerous types of crime – against the person, terrorism, extremism and banditry.
