15.02.2021

The Yagorlyk reserve was founded on February 15, 1988 on the recommendation of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The base was the ichthyological reserve "Goyan Bay", which has existed for many years, where unique species of plants and fish of the Middle Dniester basin were preserved. Since then, the Yagorlyk reserve has been the pride of the Dubossary region and the whole of Pridnestrovie. Together with nine protected areas with rare species of plants and animals (reserves, wildlife reserves and a botanical garden), the Yagorlyk state reserve is included in the list of objects of the natural reserve fund, approved by the decision of the Supreme Council of the PMR in 2010.

The Yagorlyk Pridnestrovian reserve was admitted to the Eurasian Union of Reserves and entered into the register of the International Reserve Fund. The staff of the reserve is always glad to see guests - excursions are organized along its winding hiking trails. Experienced tourists say that the landscapes and relief of Yagorlyk sometimes resemble Crimea. Beautiful views of the reserve and its surroundings open from the hill above the Goyan Bay.

The area of the reserve, which has a scientific status, is almost 1.044 hectares, the water surface is more than 20%. The protected zone with a limited nature management regime has been established around. There are 101 species of rare plants on the territory of Yagorlyk, 16 of which are included in the Red Book. Moreover, only in 2019, several more new plant species were discovered in the forests of the reserve. The reserve is home to 29 species of mammals, such as roe deer, stone marten, raccoon dog, European ground squirrel and ermine. There are many rare reptiles and more than 120 bird species.
