Personal stories, facts, testimonies and analysis of the tragic events of June 1992. Eyewitnesses and participants in the events of the early 1990s spoke about this from the rostrum of the scientific conference “War and Peace on the Dniester: 30 Years of the Bendery Tragedy”. Representatives of the younger generation listened to them in the hall: students, cadets, Suvorovites. They were born already in peacetime and they know about the history of the formation of Pridnestrovie as a state, as well as about military operations in Bendery, from articles in textbooks. The conference is an opportunity to learn the facts firsthand.
Pridnestrovie lived under constant shelling in the early 90s. Dubossary and Bendery were attacked by the Moldovan battalions. On June 19, 1992, the inhabitants of the city of Benderн will not forget - Friday evening was torn by the sounds of incessant shelling.
The parliamentarian delivered a speech to the young Pridnestrovians and read out the greeting address of the Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council from the rostrum.
Russia helped stop the hostilities. It was in the Russian capital in June 1993 - a year after the execution of peaceful Bendery - that the International Public Tribunal took place. The Pridnestrovian prosecutor's office opened a criminal case on the fact of Moldova's attack on Bendery, the execution of civilians, abuse of prisoners of war and other documented crimes of Moldovan combatants. All documents were presented to the world community. Pridnestrovian historian and eyewitness of the events of the early 90s Anna Volkova, speaking on this topic, emphasized: the Public Tribunal, consisting of the world's most authoritative lawyers and human rights experts, qualified the invasion of Moldovan armed forces in Pridnestrovie as an aggression of one state against another. He recognized the crimes committed by the Moldovan battalions as not having a statute of limitations. The matter did not progress beyond the announcement.
As part of the scientific conference “War and Peace on the Dniester: 30 Years of the Bendery Tragedy”, reports were made on the impact of the events of 1992 on the course of the negotiation process between the Republic of Moldova and the PMR, as well as how Pridnestrovie was defended in the early 90s by the Cossacks of the Black Sea Cossack Host. The conference participants are sure that it is important to know, remember and pass on the history of their country, its heroic pages to the next generations of Pridnestrovians.
