“Vitaly Ivanovich Glebov: thirty years of service to Pridnestrovie”

A collection of memories of Vitaly Glebov, a statesman of the republic, the PMR Provisional Supreme Council deputy, Chairman of the House of Representatives, Deputy Chairman of PMR Supreme Council of the 2nd convocation, scientist and teacher, was presented in Pridnestrovie. The book presentation at PSU named after Shevchenko was attended by the PMR Supreme Council Deputy Chairman Galina Antyufeeva, parliamentarians Ilona Tyuryaeva and Oleg Bayev.

The authors of the text of the collection “Vitaly Ivanovich Glebov: Thirty Years of Service to Pridnestrovie” were Natalya Golub and Nikolai Smolensky. The book includes stories of people who worked with Vitaly Glebov, one of the outstanding state and public figures of Pridnestrovie. There are economists, government officials, business executives, journalists and social activists among them. Many were present at the book presentation. According to the deputy of the Supreme Council of the PMR of the III-VII convocation, general director of the Kvint plant Oleg Bayev, the title of the book accurately conveys the lifestyle of Vitaly Glebov.

Everyone who knew Vitaly Ivanovich in different areas of life and in different years shared their memories at the presentation of the book. Galina Antyufeeva met Vitaly Glebov back in the 80s of the 20th century, their friendship and communication lasted for decades.

Vitaly Ivanovich Glebov was born on May 18, 1938 in Slobodzeya. Glebov worked in leadership positions in agricultural associations and party bodies in the settlements of Soviet Moldova - in Criuleni, Dubossary, Kotovsk, Slobodzeya, Vulcanesti in 1964-1980. He was the first Chairman of a new structural formation in the Soviet Union – the district Collective Farm Council. He participated in the creation of the first palmet Interkolkhoz Garden in the Soviet Union. He applied his managerial talent in Taraclia, where he worked as the first secretary of the district party committee. Taraclians still remember his activities with gratitude: Glebov is an Honorary Citizen of the city, a street is named after him.

Vitaly Glebov was the chairman of the State Agrarian Industry of the Moldavian SSR, and in the early 90s, speaking out against the nationalist policies of Chisinau, he came to Pridnestrovie to help build a new republic in 1985-1988.

Glebov continued to work as head of the PMR Agriculture Department (with the rank of minister) in Pridnestrovie. Vitaly Ivanovich was the chairman of the House of Representatives of the Supreme Council of the PMR from 1996 to 2001, subsequently 12 years as a representative of the President of the PMR in the Supreme Council. From 2018 to 2021 he was the chairman of the Public Chamber of the PMR. Vitaly Glebov was a scientist, Doctor of Economics and taught at the Faculty of Economics of PSU. He was awarded the highest awards of the USSR – the Order of the October Revolution, the Red Banner of Labor, Honor and “For Merit” of the 2nd degree, the Pridnestrovian Order of the Republic.

Vitaly Glebov died in February 2022. He was 83.
