The Memory Candle was lit in all towns and districts of the republic

Deputies of the Supreme Council took part in the commemorative events timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

The Memory Candle mass event took place in Slobodzeya near the Glory Memorial Arch at 4 o'clock in the morning. It was attended by the heads of the town and district, deputy of the Supreme Council Pavel Shinkaryuk, deputies of the Council of People's Deputies of Slobodzeya and Slobodzeya District, heads of district administrations and services, employees of the district state administration apparatus, representatives of labor collectives, the public. The audience was presented with a literary and musical composition permeated with the spirit of patriotism, grief for the dead, pride in the Great Victory. Flower-laying ceremony was held at the Eternal Flame at the end of the event.

The lights of candles were lit at the Dubossary Memorial of Military Glory. The townspeople laid out the word "remember" with candles, honored the memory of all those who died during the war with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the graves of the liberators at the mass graves of Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of the city in April 1944. Among those who met the current dawn at the Memorial are the participants of the Great Patriotic War Vladimir Zaichuk and Vladimir Kostenko, Deputy of the PMR Supreme Council Boris German, Deputy head of the state administration of Dubossary region and Dubossary Natalia Kravets. The reconstruction of the first hours of the war in the morning silence when young people went to the front to enter immortality, was especially piercing and emotionally perceived.
