"Solnechny-2023"

Residents of the Solnechny microdistrict in Bendery witnessed last weekend an exciting event – the Solnechny 2023 futsal tournament. The competition, organized for non-professional teams, brought together 100 players of different ages: 13 teams took part in it. 13 years ago the tournament was organized by deputies of the district as a competition among neighborhood teams of the microdistrict. It is open to teams from all over the city, which represent neighborhoods and enterprises in Bendery now.

The permanent organizers of the tournament are Alexander Korshunov, deputy from constituency Number 1 Solnechny, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, and deputies of the Bendery City Council.

“Today we are opening a traditional football tournament among non-professional teams of three age categories: under 14, under 17 and over 18. This tournament has been held since 2010, every year there are more and more participants, the tournament is gaining momentum, and we are very glad that our guys are engaged in physical education, football and love this game,” said Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov opening the tournament.

The teams had been battling under the August sun for two days. Intense matches on the field attracted many fans despite the heat. The atmosphere was so charged with energy that it seemed as if every spectator became a part of the game. The participants showed their skills and enjoyed football, made new acquaintances and strengthened sports ties.

It was time for the final matches on Sunday, August 27. The first place was taken by the Apollon team in the first age category among the youngest participants (under 14), the second place was taken by the Boby Messi team, and the third place went to the Shlepiki team. The Arthouse team beat the Hydra team in a bitter struggle in the second age group under 17. The BAM team became the champion in the older age category, the second place went to the Shelkovy team, and the third place was taken by the Bendery Meat Processing Plant team.

The BAM team started playing in the Solnechny tournament more than 10 years ago from the junior age category and always achieved excellent results. BAM has been the favorite of the tournament and rightfully holds the title of champion for many years now.

The result of the tournament was the goalkeeper fights, where goalkeepers demonstrated their skills and unique style of play, defending and repelling opponents' attacks.
