22.07.2020

Volunteers from the republican youth movement "The Victories Heirs" held a voluntary Saturday work. The ramparts of the Tiraspol fortress, the powder magazine and the memorial to the victims of political repression were put in order. They cut the grass and cleaned up the debris. The deputy of the Supreme Council of the PMR Igor Buga, who is also the Head of the youth movement "The Victories Heirs", took part in the voluntary Saturday work.

The Memorial to the Victims of Political Repression is a special place for the volunteers of "The Victories Heirs" movement. Most of them, together with archaeologists, took part in the excavations during three years. They found the remains of repressed residents of Tiraspol who were shot in the 30s of the XX century. Approximately 2 thousand people are buried at the memorial.

The memorial to the victims of repression is located behind the new church and hidden behind a hedge. As it turned out, not everyone knows what this place is and who is buried there. The volunteers cleared the area, swept it up, and collected trash during a couple of days. Now the volunteers of "The Victories Heirs" movement consider it their duty to care for the memorial.

According to the deputy of the Supreme Council, the Head of the youth movement Igor Buga, next year "The Victories Heirs" movement plans to conduct geological exploration again so that not a single name of those who were shot here during the years of repression remains unknown.
