The Bridges of Friendship: the start of the inter-parliamentary project of Pridnestrovie and Russia

Pridnestrovie and Russia, mentoring and cooperation, youth and deputies of the Supreme Council and the State Duma. The Bridges of Friendship Russian-Pridnestrovian project was launched today in the assembly hall of PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko – in the format of a videoconference between Tiraspol and Moscow.

The main organizers and participants of the project are the Supreme Council of the PMR, the United Russia faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Central Election Commission of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Youth Commissions, the  Obnovlenie (Renewal) party and other Russian organizations. They and students, representatives of youth organizations became the main participants in the conversation.

Deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the United Russia faction Alena Arshinova and Artem Turov assured that the party has a lot of projects that will be of interest to the Pridnestrovian youth. For example, they talked about the possibility of Pridnestrovian Russians to join the United Russia party, about the participation of Pridnestrovians in Russian projects to preserve historical memory and cultural and historical heritage, and about the possible inclusion of Pridnestrovians in the United Russia Higher Party School project. All these issues were discussed in Moscow in the course of the meetings of the leadership of the Pridnestrovian parliament with the leadership of United Russia.

Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alena Arshinova grew up in Tiraspol, graduated from Pridnestrovian State University, was the Head of youth organization. Now she is a member of the United Russia party and oversees youth projects. According to Alena Arshinova, young people should be given the opportunity to express themselves.

Representatives of the Youth Election Commission and the youth wing of the Obnovlenie paid special attention to volunteering in the course of the round table. Volunteers are people who do not want loud thanks and awards. This is what the State Duma deputy Artem Turov, who represents the interests of the residents of Pridnestrovie in the Russian Parliament said about volunteers. The volunteer movement was intensified during the last 1.5 years both in Russia and in Pridnestrovie.

Representatives of the Youth Election Commissions initiated many topics and issues that will be raised and discussed within the framework of the Bridges of Friendship project.

Round tables will be held on the participation of young Pridnestrovians in electoral processes, the civic position of modern youth, and cultural and social interaction during the summer of 2021, within the framework of the Bridges of Friendship project.
