"Lions" to the Rescue

Deputies of the Supreme Council Oleg Bayev, Galina Antyufeeva, Victor Guzun, deputy of the capital council Ruslan Orlov acted as organizers of social action in Pridnestrovie “Mobile Eye Clinic”. It was held in Tiraspol municipal nursing home for the elderly and disabled people.
This charity project was implemented by “lions clubs” of Moldova and Pridnestrovie with the support of the European Union and UNDP. The specialized vehicles was equipped with modern facilities. Up to 50-60 patients were examined daily in Bendery and Dubossary district. Representatives of the "lions movement" are going to winterize the van-clinic, as well as install equipment there to test sense of vision of children.
This pre-festive Saturday day the eye examination in patients of the capital home for senior citizens and people with disabilities was not the only a welcome development. Representatives of “The Lions Club” from the German city of Eilenburg (sister town of Tiraspol) sent modern automatic wheelchair taking a convenient opportunity of sending. The recipient of the charity goods – is the 25-year-old Dmitry Dovgar whose limbs are deformed from childhood. Dmitry had 9 major operations in Germany thanks to the efforts of Pridnestrovians "lions", including many benefactors deputies, as well as their German counterparts.
The young man was so deeply moved by saying thanks to good people that tears involuntarily appeared at his cheek. These were tears of joy.
Inhabitants of the orphanage received New Year greetings and gifts from members of the Supreme Council.
In conclusion, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on legislation wished Happy New Year 2015 to Pridnestrovians, wishing health, happiness, success and confidence in the future.
