"Through the years, through the distances ..."

May 18, 2010 Sergey Gubarev, appointed as special envoy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, visited Tiraspol for the first time, where he met with Igor Smirnov who was a President that time. The diplomat represents the Russian Federation in the "5 + 2" format negotiations since then, during six years.

The Russian guest said that members of the Russian delegation held a series of meetings with Moldovan politicians on the eve.  

The issues of economic cooperation, increasing exports of our products to the Russian Federation were also discussed as Igor Smirnov told during the talks in the legislature to parliamentary journalists. As it is known, this figure was sharply reduced from 68% to 8%. The problems that must be addressed in the "5 + 2" format, associated with movement of citizens, public transport, activities of JCC, security of Pridnestrovian citizens were in the focus of attention.
