Meeting of the Foreign Policy Commission

Комиссия по внешней политике и международным связям

10.07.2024

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly on July 3 adopted a resolution, which the Foreign Ministry of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic described as a textbook example of propaganda and deprofessionalization. The official statement of the PMR Foreign Ministry indicates that the text of the resolution contains a set of cliches that have nothing to do with the real state of affairs in the republic. The Foreign Ministry of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic drew attention to the demonstrative disregard for massive violations of the rights of Pridnestrovians due to blockade and restrictive measures, economic exactions and repressive norms in the legislation of the neighboring Republic of Moldova.

The resolution of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was discussed by deputies of the Parliamentary Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations today. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vitaly Ignatiev, who outlined the position of the Pridnestrovian foreign ministry on this resolution and answered questions from parliamentarians, joined the discussion.

The foreign affairs chief noted that such destructive steps undermine the OSCE mediation efforts within the framework of the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement.

Following the meeting of the Commission, a draft official statement of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, which will be submitted to today’s plenary meeting, was adopted.

The Vice Speaker of the Parliament noted that Pridnestrovie needs to use all possible international platforms today in order to be heard and prove that all the “facts” set out in the resolution of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly are lies.
