Protection of personal information

The Government proposed to give the Ministry of Digital Development the right to initiate cases under Article 13.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for violation of legislation in the field of personal data. This is currently being done by the Prosecutor's Office of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Amendments and additions are being made to the Code of Administrative Offences. The law-in-draft proposes to increase the statute of limitations for prosecution under Article 13.11. This is due to the fact that citizens may receive complaints about such violations after 2 months, when it is no longer possible to bring the perpetrator to justice. Therefore, administrative cases are not initiated or terminated. The Government proposes to increase the statute of limitations for prosecution for violation of legislation in the field of personal data to 1 year. The law-in-draft will be considered in the first reading. Let us note that the fine for citizens is from 10 to 15 minimum wages (184 – 276 rubles), for officials – from 15 to 40 minimum wages (276 – 736 rubles), for legal entities – (2760 – 5520 rub.) from 150 to 300 minimum wages.
