The law-in-draft on state assistance to foreign citizens who arrived from Ukraine was considered today in the first reading by the deputies of the Committee on Social Policy and Health. The law-in-draft "On measures of state support for foreign citizens and stateless persons arriving from the territory of Ukraine and temporarily staying on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" was sent by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the mode of legislative necessity.
As of April 7, according to the Operational Headquarters for Assistance to Foreign Citizens Forced to Temporarily Stay on the Territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, almost 28000 foreign citizens have entered the republic since February 24, more than 21000 people have officially registered. More than a thousand children from Ukraine go to schools and kindergartens.
The law-in-draft proposes to provide for the possibility of temporary employment of foreign citizens and stateless persons who arrived in the republic, conduct medical examinations for them during employment, provide social assistance, and children to attend kindergartens and schools in Pridnestrovie.
The committee recommended the law-in-draft on assistance to those who arrived from Ukraine for adoption by the parliament in the first reading. It will be submitted to the next plenary meeting, which is scheduled for April 13. The Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy noted that it is necessary for the second reading to determine and prescribe some nuances. For example, which categories of foreign citizens who arrived in Pridnestrovie from Ukraine will have the right to use the provisions of this law or children of what age will be able to receive free meals in educational institutions.
