In the course of the meeting of the Committee on Social Policy, deputies considered amendments to the law "On the Social Protection of War Veterans" proposed by the Government. The law-in-draft aims to restore social justice for parents whose children under the age of 18 died from the effects of hostilities in 1992. Today, social protection measures are extended to those parents whose children died as a result of hostilities.
In the case of adoption of amendments to the law, parents of children who died from the consequences of hostilities will be entitled to receive social benefits and guarantees. Among them - payment of utilities in the amount of 50% within the limits of consumption standards, free travel by all types of public transport, except taxi.
Amendments to the law "On the Social Protection of War Veterans" members of the Committee on Social Policy will recommend for adoption in the first reading.
Law-in-draft on amendments to the Law on Employment is being prepared for consideration in the second reading. It is about changing the approach to calculating and paying unemployment benefits. For example, it is proposed to increase payments to citizens fired in connection with the liquidation of the organization. The law-in-draft also aims to change the deregistration procedure at the employment center. This is due to the refusal of people from job offers.
Currently, more than three thousand unemployed are registered with the Employment Center. At the same time, about 3800 vacancies remain free. According to deputies, the proposed tightening in relation to the unemployed should help increase the number of working citizens. The law-in-draft, taking into account the amendments received, will be recommended for adoption in the second reading during the plenary meeting.
