A matter of trust

Profile Committee recommends the Supreme Council to adopt the initiative of Galina Antyufeeva on making amendments to the law "On State Secrets" in the first reading. It is about inclusion in the list of posts accepted for the information constituting a state secret, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission. In the run-up to the first in the history of Pridnestroviian Unique day of voting (elections of deputies of the Supreme and local Soviets, Chairmen of Councils - heads of administrations of villages, settlements) the CEC Chairman was excluded from this list according to the order of the President.

Taking into account the functions and powers of the Central Election Commission and its Chairman, who uses the information classified as state secret, Galina Antyufeeva considered it appropriate at the legislative level to endow the Chairman of the Central Election Commission the right of access to such information that is necessary to ensure a full and consistent work of the Central Election Commission of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
