Payments on Soviet deposits

The law-in-draft with additions to the law "On the republican budget for 2021" was submitted to the Supreme Council by the PMR President was developed in connection with the implementation of the state's obligations and guarantees for the restoration of Soviet citizens' deposits. Due to the fact that when the budget for 2021 was adopted, it was decided to expand the category of recipients of compensation and include people born before 1950 inclusively, more applications for reimbursement of lost savings began to arrive. 21679 people are eligible to receive such payments at the moment. The Government needs 21.7 million rubles to pay off the said debt this year respectively since people get their hands on no more than 1000 rubles a year. Only 17 million rubles were reserved for these purposes when the budget was adopted at the end of last year.

It is proposed to increase the funding limits for the payment of compensation for Soviet savings in order to meet the need of our citizens for these payments. The profile committee supported the initiative of the President and will recommend the Supreme Council to adopt the law-in-draft in two readings at once.
