The Committee on Social Policy has begun work on “Equal Opportunities” new state target program for 2025-2027. The Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic presented it to parliamentarians for consideration.

Such a program is not an innovation in the legislative environment of the republic. A similar one was already in effect from 2019 to 2022 inclusive. Descents and ascents at pedestrian crossings are being arranged as part of separate government orders, and accessibility to public places is being ensured for people with special needs. The government developed and submitted a new state program to the Supreme Council. It reflects the main directions in which we will work for the next three years.

It is planned to install ramps at 43 places over three years. This includes medical institutions and educational institutions of higher and secondary vocational education. The program includes the arrangement of descents and ascents at intersections of city streets. There are 18 of them in the presented project. However, creating an accessible environment to increase the mobility of people with disabilities is not the main task. It is planned during 3 years to more actively involve people with disabilities in the public, social and cultural life of the state, according to the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic representative.

There is creation of conditions for ensuring equal access to education, taking into account special needs and individual capabilities, and holding cultural events involving people with disabilities among the objectives of the new state program.

Deputies of the Committee on Social Policy consider that the “Equal Opportunities” state target program for 2025-2027 must be adopted. However, parliamentarians had a number of questions. They were voiced by the Chairman of the Committee.

All questions that the Committee deputies have will be sent to the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor. It is planned that the parliament will adopt the “Equal Opportunities” state target program for 2025-2027 in the first reading before the start of the holidays. In order to complete work on it in September and include expenditures on the State Program in the law on the republican budget for 2025 after careful study. It is planned to allocate about 7.5 million rubles to finance it in just 3 years of operation of the state program. Funds will be allocated not only from the republican, but also from local budgets. A little more than 2 million rubles are planned for next year’s events.
