To date, the State Register of monuments of national and local significance includes about 350 monuments of history and monumental art, architecture and urban planning, archeology, nature. Among them there is a building of the Medical Faculty of the Pridnestrovian State University, located the 25th of October Street, 93. It was transferred to PSU balance in 1998. The building, built in 1934 by architect M. Petrov, prior to the reorganization was intended initially for the town militia department, and then over the years it has been serving for the administrative and educational purposes. The building corresponds to the Soviet architecture of 1920-1930 in stylistic directions.
According to the expert committee, the physical deterioration of the basic construction of building structures ranging from 50% to 80%, and the effective period of operation without major repairs greatly exceeded. Taking into consideration that the operation of buildings in the future is insecure and, as a consequence, it loses its historical and cultural value, the government decided to exclude it from the state register. The corresponding law-in-draft under consideration by the Supreme Council, was adopted at the last plenary session in the first reading.
The relevant parliamentary committee did not receive any comments and suggestions from the legal entities of legislative initiative in preparation for the consideration of the document in the second reading. In this regard, members of the Committee will recommend to the deputies to adopt the law-in-draft in the received version of the second and final reading at the next session of the Supreme Council.
As the chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture Vladimir Bodnar noted, this building is not particularly notable for architectural finds.
