In the course of the meeting of the Committee on Legislation, deputies raised the topic of a temporary restriction on the departure of unscrupulous alimony payers. Since 2012, there is a rule that enshrines the possibility of a ban on leaving the republic, if the debtor has accumulated the amount of unpaid alimony over 100 MW. Often there are cases when the debtor is forced to work out for a short time outside Pridnestrovie. However, the presence in the legal environment of the prohibiting norm does not allow to earn the necessary funds for the proper fulfillment of obligations to pay alimony.Parliamentarians Galina Antyufeeva, Oleg Petrik and Grigory Dyachenko suggested solving the problem. The deputies were the authors of the amendments, according to which such a restriction would not apply to those who carry out labor activities related to leaving the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic up to 24 hours a day.
During the discussion of the legislative initiative, representatives of the State Judicial Service of the Ministry of Justice expressed concern that unscrupulous debtors would be able to take advantage of this “loophole” in the law.
The amendments also provide that temporary restrictions on the debtor’s departure from the republic may be suspended in case of need for treatment abroad.
The deputies of the Committee recommended colleagues to adopt the document in the first reading.
