Strengthening administrative responsibility

14.12.2021

If a driver is brought to administrative responsibility for the consumption of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances without a doctor's prescription, then he will be temporarily restricted by the right to drive vehicles. A restriction on the use of a driver's license is introduced in the Code of Administrative Offenses. The initiative was directed by President Vadim Krasnoselsky.

Amendments were made to the law "On road safety" together with this law-in-draft. Those brought to administrative responsibility for the consumption of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances (without a doctor's prescription) will not be allowed to take exams for the right to drive vehicles.

The President Vadim Krasnoselsky sent amendments in connection with the tragic incident that occurred on May 30 in the village of Karagash, when a two-month-old child died and nine people were injured as a result of the accident.

The Committee will recommend the amendments to the legislation at the plenary meeting tomorrow, on the 15th of December.
