The Committee on Education considered amendments to the Criminal Code, which proposed to harmonize the rules governing education. In addition, the relevant law-in-draft on toughening liability for involvement of minors in drinking alcoholic (alcoholic) drinks, use of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and intoxicants. The relevant committee proposed an amendment for the second reading, taking into account the views of the government, which allows a person after undergoing treatment for alcohol or other addiction continue their education not only in the secondary, but also professional institutions. It is also proposed in the law-in-draft to replace the concept of "teachers" to "teaching staff". The legislative initiative "On amendments and additions to the Criminal Code of the PMR" In view of these amendments is recommended for adoption in the second reading.
Another profile law-in-draft concerned amendments to the law "On education". The document is about the transfer of the authority of government authorized executive authority in charge of the issues of education, with regard to establishing the list of areas of training (specialties), which are not allowed to obtain vocational education and training in absentia, in the form of external and in the form of a family education. Relevant agencies are invited to confirm the right to establish the procedure of admission to educational organizations, including the features of the entrance examinations for people with disabilities, foreign citizens and persons without citizenship. The law-in-draft also concerns the formation of organizations that implement programs for the training of professional personnel and similar professionals, special educational establishments of closed type for children and adolescents with behavioral, educational institutions for orphans and children left without parental care. The founder of these institutions, according to the proposed amendments to the basic law, only the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic can be determined.
The relevant committee during the meeting supported received amendments for the second reading of editorial nature concerning the uniform application of terminology in the sphere of education.
The Committee on Education, Science and Culture has also considered and approved a number of legislations on deputies. Among them – there is a law-in-draft "On Road Traffic Safety", to amend the Constitution and the law "On Acts of legislation PMR" relating to empower the Supreme Council Chairman to sign the draft law, in respect of which the President's veto was overridden, but there was no signature of the President.
