Those who for the first time receive a higher professional education in a medical profile may receive a delay from being drafted for military service for the entire period of study, internship and residency. Amendments with such a proposal of the President were directed to the Supreme Council to the law "On Universal Military Duty and Military Service". The initiative proposes granting the right to deferment to doctors working in state and municipal health care institutions. Changes will allow students to receive quality education continuously. The author of the amendments said that the adoption of the draft law will have positive impact on the strengthening of the personnel potential of medical and preventive treatment institutions of cities and villages.

The parliamentarians of the relevant committee unanimously supported the presidential initiative and will recommend it for adoption in the first reading during the plenary session.
