Improving Legislation for the Green Energy Development

29.04.2025

The Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance reviewed in the first reading the law-in-draft "On Amending the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic "On Electric Power Industry". Its authors were Supreme Council deputies Viktor Guzun, Andrei Mezhinsky, Vadim Levitsky and Vadim Kravchuk.

A group of parliamentarians proposes to create favorable conditions and mechanisms at the legislative level to stimulate economic entities to introduce electricity production using renewable energy sources. It is assumed that the activities of such enterprises will be able to compensate for the energy deficit through the widespread use of alternative energy sources and energy-saving technologies.

Therefore, the law-in-draft proposes to provide enterprises that will develop green energy with state support in the form of a subsidy from the republican budget. If funds are available, the subsidy can only be used to reimburse part of the costs incurred for payment of services rendered by electric power industry entities for transmission, operational dispatch control and distribution of electric energy, in an amount not exceeding 50% of the costs incurred.

The Supreme Council will soon consider this legislative initiative in the first reading.

The law-in-draft on amendments to the republican budget for 2025 was considered in the second reading in the course of the Committee on Economic Policy meeting today. Tables of amendments have been prepared for the second reading. According to the law-in-draft, funds from targeted budget funds will be distributed to pay salaries to public sector employees. The law-in-draft will be adopted in the course of the plenary session in the second reading tomorrow, the 30th of April.
