Social guarantees for individual entrepreneurs

The profile committee considered today a package of legislations that will ensure timely payment of sick leave benefits to microenterprise workers and enable women entrepreneurs to receive maternity benefits. Sergey Cheban, chairman of the profile committee, emphasized that the initiative was based on numerous appeals to the Committee on Small Business and the Committee on Social Policy.

The first package of amendments to the law "On the provision of benefits for temporary disability, pregnancy and childbirth of citizens subject to state social insurance" concerns micro-enterprises that do not have sufficient financial resources to pay employees benefits for a certificate of incapacity for work as soon as possible. It is proposed to simplify the payment mechanism.

Thus, the Head of the relevant committee noted, the legislation will not be violated and the person will receive benefits in a timely manner. The committee will recommend to the Supreme Council to adopt the amendments on second reading. The date of their entry into force will be determined at one of the plenary sessions of the parliament.

Amendments have been prepared for the second reading that will allow women with the status of individual entrepreneurs to receive maternity benefits. A fixed amount of the allowance is offered - 170 minimum wages per month. Individual entrepreneurs also pay social tax after the introduction of the new taxation system.

According to the estimates of the Ministry of Social Protection, entrepreneurs need to find about 8 million rubles in the state budget to pay benefits for pregnancy and childbirth.
