Unemployed Pridnestrovians quarantined for COVID-19 with children under the age of 8 will be able to receive temporary disability benefits. This applies to citizens who are registered as unemployed in the Employment Centers. An unemployed parent can count on social support from the state in the event that a kindergarten or group is quarantined due to cases of coronavirus. Changes are being made to the anti-crisis law. The deputies of the committee considered this initiative in the second reading and will recommend the Supreme Council to adopt it in the course of the plenary session.
Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy, Healthcare, Labor, Family and Childhood Issues Sergey Cheban spoke in more detail about how this mechanism will work.
Sergei Cheban clarified that in case of quarantine of preschool children, an unemployed citizen who is officially registered at the Employment Center will be issued a certificate of incapacity for work, this is a sick leave. It will be paid and renewed for the required period. The minimum unemployment benefit for 1 month is 30 RU minimum wages or 252 rubles.
In the first reading mode, the deputies of the profile committee considered the law-in-draft "On the sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population". The legislative initiative of Sergei Cheban proposes, when registering the results of medical examinations, to enter information about the diagnosis only with the consent of the employee himself. This means that it will only be possible to indicate in a medical certificate its suitability or unsuitability for work.
According to the law "On the basics of protecting the health of citizens", information contained in a citizen's medical documents constitutes a medical secret and can be provided without his consent only in exceptional cases. For example, when there is a threat of the spread of infectious diseases, mass poisoning, or at the request of the prosecutor's office.
