Parliamentarians considered amendments and additions to the PMR Law “On Education” in the course of the regular meeting of the Committee on Education, Public Associations and Mass Media. The initiative proposes to enshrine at the legislative level a norm according to which accommodation, regular meals, uniforms and medical care for pupils of Suvorov Military College and Cadets will be provided at the expense of the republican budget. These norms are provided only by legal acts of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic at the moment. According to the deputies of the Committee, this law-in-draft is of a technical nature. It will be recommended for adoption at the plenary session in two readings at once.

Deputies discussed amendments and additions to the Law of the PMR "On Volunteering" in the mode of the first reading. The legislative initiative of the Government is aimed at creating a legal basis for the functioning of volunteering in Pridnestrovie. It is proposed to form a single conceptual apparatus and a set of principles of volunteering at the legislative level, as well as to determine the relations that arise in this area between civil society institutions and state authorities. The amendments and additions to the current legislation will stimulate the development of volunteering in the republic, according to the authors. Deputies had a number of questions and proposals during the discussion. Parliamentarians will recommend adopting the law-in-draft at the plenary session in the first reading and continuing work on it in the second.

The Committee considered amendments and additions to the law "On the Education of Persons with special needs (Special Education)" as part of the second reading. This law-in-draft, developed by the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, is designed to improve the norms for conducting final certification for students with intellectual disabilities. The current legislation does not prescribe what document is issued to such students after studying in an adapted basic general education program and passing an exam in labor training. The law-in-draft proposes to establish a rule according to which persons with disabilities, who do not have basic general and secondary (complete) general education and studied according to adapted basic general education programs will be issued a certificate of education according to the model established by the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The law-in-draft will be considered at the plenary session in the second reading in the near future.
