Grinding the Edge of the Law

Deputies examined a number of government-prepared legislative initiatives defining the notion of "civil defense" at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Legislation, Law Enforcement, Defense, Security, Peacekeeping, Protection of Citizens' Rights and Freedoms. As explained by the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of PMR, the changes in some legislative acts, as well as the draft of the new Law "On Civil Defense" have been developed with the aim of eliminating interchangeable concepts. The parliamentarians recommended adopting legislative initiatives of the Government in the first reading.

During the meeting of the profile committee, the deputies also considered proposals for amending and supplementing the Civil Code. The law-in-draft, drafted by parliamentarian Grigory Dyachenko and aimed at protecting the rights and interests of the pledgeholders, was recommended for adoption in the second reading.
