Sergei Cheban, "Citizens' health should be a priority"

The Supreme Council began work on the main financial document of the next year. The parameters of the republican budget - 2018 and the budget of the Unified State Social Insurance Fund were met by members of the parliamentary committee on social policy, health, labor, family and childhood.

First of all, members of the profile committee paid attention to financing the social sphere and the healthcare sector. In accordance with the law-in-draft "On the republican budget for 2018", its volume remained practically at the level of this year. At the same time, the people's deputies drew attention to the need to increase the financing of activities to upgrade the skills of medical personnel, including abroad, as well as the treatment that Pridnestrovians are in great need of it outside the republic.

Within the framework of the draft budget of the republic for the next year, it is also planned to finance four state programs in the sphere of public health.

As for the budget of the Unified State Social Insurance Fund, then, as the head of the committee assured, all reserves will be sought to fulfill the state's social obligations to citizens. This means that it guarantees priority payments of pensions, salaries, allowances, provision of medicines.

As part of the meeting of the Committee, the official representative of the government announced the sending of a letter to the speaker of the parliament with a proposal to discuss the content of the capital investment program, which is an integral part of the draft republican budget for the next year. Members of the Government, heads of state administrations, Deputies of the Supreme Council are invited to the conversation. Previously, such a meeting is scheduled for Monday.
