The initiative included in the agenda of the meeting of the Legislation Committee concerned the powers of the Prosecutor to intervene in a case being heard by the Arbitration Court. Anatoly Guretsky in his explanation of his law-in-draft notes that the current version of Article 33 of the Arbitration Procedure Code allows the prosecutor to apply to the court in defense of state and public interests, as well as to intervene in a case to ensure legality, but only in a limited category of cases. The Constitutional Law "On the Prosecutor's Office of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" at the same time provides for the right of the prosecutor to apply to the court with a statement or to intervene in the case at any stage of the process, if this is required to protect the rights of citizens and the interests of society or the state protected by law. The proposed amendments to the Arbitration Procedure Code are intended to change the role of the Prosecutor in the arbitration process, it was said in the course of the meeting of the relevant committee.
The deputies of the Committee decided to recommend that the deputy corps adopt the law-in-draft of the Prosecutor of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the first reading and continue working on it.
