The head of the parliamentary committee for state regional policy, Deputy Oleg Vasilaty suggested correcting the mistakes and bringing the names of settlements of the republic to common. The legislative initiative, which provides for changes to the law "On the administrative and territorial structure of the PMR", was considered at the meeting of the profile committee. The list of settlements is formed in a separate annex to the law and requires uniformity. As the author of the law-in-draft explained, today in the Republic there are several information bases that are formed by different departments, such as the Registration Chamber, the Central Election Commission and passport desks. There are inaccuracies in the use of geographical names because of this.
Representatives of town and district councils, having made an inventory, identified a number of inconsistencies. For example, the village of Rashkovo is part of the Kamenka district (today it is listed in official documents), although the residents themselves call it - Rashkov, which more closely corresponds to the historical name. In this case, the deputies supported the offer of the residents. In the Grigoriopol district there is the village of Marian, although such names as "Marjan" and "Mariyany" are also used. There are only a few dozen people citizens living in it, and in the registration - different names. There are many such examples throughout the country.
Following the consideration of the deputies of the committee recommended that the deputy corps adopt the law-in-draft in two readings.
Another important initiative, proposed by parliamentarian Oleg Vasilaty, includes the inclusion of a subscription fee for the maintenance of water meters in the composition of state tariffs. The law-in-draft was based on numerous citizens' appeals, which drew the attention of parliamentarians to the high amount of the license fee.
Noting the urgency of the legislative initiative, parliamentarians supported and recommended to the Supreme Council the document for adoption in the first reading.
