The working week in the Supreme Council started with a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Legislation. Deputies discussed in its course draft laws introduced in preparation for the second reading amendments to the Constitution, Rules of Procedure and on the status of deputies of the Supreme Council, and others. However, most of the time deputies devoted to the discussion of the proposed legislative initiative subjects of amendments to the Electoral Code. It refers to a legal concept, as turnout threshold.

Earlier, deputies adopted in the first reading amendments to the Electoral Code, which appear on the threshold of presidential elections lowered to 25%. In preparing the law-in-draft for the second reading there appeared two principal amendments from deputy Oleg Petrik – to remove the turnout, as is done in Russia, from the President - set it at 40%.

In favor of the first amendment at its recent meeting, the members were in favor of the first consultative meeting of Pridnestrovian deputies of the Chairman of the Supreme Council, and in the course of today - a member of the Committee on Legislation Vitaly Kalin; in favor of the second - his colleague Oleg Belyakov. The majority of the members of the Committee, including its head, Galina Antyufeeva, voted in favor of the editors of adopted in the first reading law-in-draft, i.e., 25%. What is the basis of their arguments?
