The Profile Issues Consideration

The deputies of the Committee on Legislation Galina Antyufeeva, Gregory Dyachenko, Stepan Stepanov and Oleg Petrik proposed to provide social guarantees to military personnel raising children without a mother. We are talking about those who are doing military service under the contract. According to the deputies, they should have the right to parental leave until they reach the age of three and the right to receive a monthly allowance accordingly. Amendments are being made to the laws “On the status of military personnel”, “On universal military duty and military service” and “On state benefits to citizens with children”. The legislations were supported today in the course of the meeting of the profile committee for adoption in the first reading.

The deputies of the Committee considered the candidacy for the position of Commissioner for Human Rights. By order of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, the candidacy of Vyacheslav Kosinsky, who has held the position of Ombudsman since 2017, was proposed. The parliamentarians supported the opinion of the PMR President in the course of the meeting, noting the close interaction with Vyacheslav Kosinsky during his five years of work.

The Legislation Committee approved in addition the adoption in two readings of the President's law-in-draft on the extension of quarantine and existing restrictive measures until June 30. The rules for wearing masks and maintaining social distance in public places are being extended for the specified period.

All the relevant issues considered today at the meeting of the Legislation Committee will be submitted for discussion to the deputies at one of the plenary sessions.
