The PMR President proposed expanding the category of recipients of state subsidies for full or partial payment of a loan for the purchase of housing. The amendments proposed by the President to the law “On state support for young families for the purchase of housing” are designed to provide additional support to military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
Only officers of the Armed Forces of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic can receive a state subsidy for full or partial payment of a loan for the purchase of housing today. The legislative initiative proposes to grant the right to receive such state subsidies to soldiers, sergeants and warrant officers serving under contract.
Deputies of the relevant Committee supported the President’s proposal unanimously. The legislative initiative will be included in the agenda of one of the upcoming plenary meetings. The Parliamentary Committee on Social Protection and Healthcare will recommend that the parliamentary corps adopt the law-in-draft in two readings at once. If the law-in-draft is adopted in its final reading, the new measures will come into force on the 1st of January, 2024.
Law-in-draft has been prepared for consideration in the second reading that will ban Pridnestrovians from smoking at public transport stops, in squares and parks. The relevant Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare clarified that the law-in-draft with the amendments will be prohibited to smoke directly “under the awnings of public urban and suburban transport stops”. The law-in-draft on amendments and additions to the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic “On protecting the health of citizens from the effects of environmental tobacco smoke, the consequences of smoking tobacco and other nicotine-containing mixtures without tobacco” will be submitted for consideration by the deputy corps in final reading at one of the next plenary meetings.
