The work of supervisory and judicial authorities in 2021

Information on the results of work for 2021 was presented to the Supreme Council by the Pridnestrovian Prosecutor's Office, the Supreme Court and the Arbitration Court. The deputies of the Committee on Legislation, Protection of the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens got acquainted with the reports. Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Chairman of the Committee Galina Antyufeeva noted that the Parliament closely cooperates in the work to improve legislation with specialists from the Prosecutor's Office and the judiciary, who participate in plenary sessions and working groups on relevant legislations in the field of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens in particular.

The PMR prosecutor presenting Report at the meeting of the Committee on Legislation emphasized that last year the supervisory authority paid attention to the issues of compliance with the requirements of pension legislation. Often, Pridnestrovians experience difficulties in calculating the length of service when applying for a pension since many worked on the territory of the states of the former Soviet Union and now live in our republic.

Anatoly Guretsky noted that the Prosecutor's Office carried out inspections regarding the observance of the rights of citizens during the investigation of criminal cases. Work was carried out in terms of the implementation of legislation on people's appeals and the observance of the rights of orphans and children left without parental care. These issues are under special control today, the PMR Prosecutor emphasized, and work in this direction will be continued.

Information about the work of the Supreme Court was presented by its Head Adrian Penkovsky. He noted that the stability of judicial decisions remains at a high level, despite the increased workload on judges. The Chairman of the Supreme Court informed the deputies about how the law "On ensuring citizens' access to information about the activities of the courts" is being implemented.

Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Chairperson of the relevant Committee Galina Antyufeeva emphasized that the number of requests about the work of judges has recently decreased.

According to the Arbitration Court, the texts of judicial acts are regularly posted on the official website. All cases submitted to the court are considered within the established time limits, said Deputy Chairman of the Arbitration Court Oksana Shidlovskaya. The deputies expressed their opinion on the necessity of intensifying the work of this judicial body within the framework of lawmaking.

The reports on the work of the Prosecutor's Office, the Supreme Court and the Arbitration Court were taken into consideration at the meeting of the relevant committee. It will be considered in the future at one of the plenary sessions of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
